Civil Designer works on commercial, especially service station development plans and UST, environmental issues. CAD is a must. Land Development Desktop is a plus. Ideal candidate will have good "people skills" and be able to participate in all phases from preliminary concepts to construction completion. Excellent appearance and verbal skills required. Typical job functions include:
- Turn legal descriptions into property boundaries
- Interpret site plans of others
- Research on-site for planning and permitting purposes
- Assemble site plans based on sketches
- Interpret zoning ordinances
- Assemble sets of plans for submittals
- Make elevations of buildings based on physical measurements and sketches
- Make architectural changes to building exteriors and floor plans as directed
- Familiarity with construction practices
- Interpret and prepare submittal forms
- Interact with Owners, interpreting their needs
- Interact with officials in the codes enforcement functions
- Make photo-realistic renderings or direct the efforts of others in this area
- Prepare presentation materials, samples, etc.
- Research Codes, materials, customers on internet
- Use internet for aerial photos, maps
- Integrate aerial photos and site plans
- Familiarity with consulting, billing and accounting methods

Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD 2002 or higher required. Windows XP, Adobe PhotoShop helpful. Solid Works experience a big plus. Willingness to learn, high energy, self motivated absolutely critical.
