11/18/11 - Proposal to a Major Utility Conglomerate

11/22/11 - Encouraging CNG Fueling in Ohio

Meeting Notes

City of Avon Lake meeting one
Location: National Fleet Showroom - 607 Miller Rd, Avon Lake, OH
Meeting Date: September 14, 2011

City of Avon Lake meeting two
Location: Avon Lake Public Library - 32649 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake, OH
Meeting Date: September 14, 2011

  • The cost of propane and CNG is less than gasoline or disel.
  • This cost savings even when figured in with the MPG reduction of 15% is still a savings on fuel costs paid today.
  • Historically when fuel costs go up Propane and CNG are lower than gasoline and disel.
  • Along with fuel savings there is a maintenance savings when Propane or CNG is used for combustion.
  • The savings comes from the fact that there is less residue on the engine parts; thus they can go a longer distance between service.
  • Performance is not sacrificed - There are less miles per gallon but that loss of 15% does not mean there is a loss in torque or thrust performance.

CNG-One meeting one
Location: CNG-One- 5837 Akron/Cleveland Rd., Boston Heights, OH
Meeting Date: September 20, 2011

  • Meeting was to review and establish strategic relationships
  • CNG is being looked at by local businesses as a real initiative and are exploring the alternative fuel option as a company initiative.
  • CNG-One is a local Ohio company headed by Micheal Battaglia
  • CNG-One is exploring potential manufacturing partners to manufacture and market retro fit kits.
  • Also they are exploring training installers in local technical colleges on CNG vehicle basics and maintenance.
  • The goal is to eventually work their way into vehicle conversions.

CNG-One & Stainless Steel Products Alternative Fuel Division meeting
Location: Clarion Inn - 240 East Hines Hill Rd., Hudson, OH
Additional Attendees: Wiretough Cylnders LLC and Wrayco Industries

Meeting Date: September 27, 2011

  • This meeting brought together several key strategic partners as mentioned above.
  • Various types of CNG tanks:
    • Type one = all steel/metallic
      • Extremely heavy bulky tank
    • Type two = partially wrapped (Wiretough approach)
      • Per discussions this was determined to be the best value
    • Type three = steel/aluminum fully wrapped
    • Type four = polymer fully wrapped
      • Most expensive
  • Underlying trend was to produce world class and best in class results.
  • OEM support is mainly through retro fitters.
  • Dominion East Ohio Gas has the areas leading fleet of natural gas vehicles.
  • The banking industry supporters indicate strong support through education - they are aware the need of greener lending.

Proposal to a major utility conglomerate
Location
:
Teleconference vis GoToMeeting
Meeting Date: November 18, 2011

Concept: The Utility Conglomerate is a major player in Marcellus and Utica Shale gas fields.  The amount of gas production expected on top of that currently being produced will result in a glut if additional demand is not generated.  Benefits of using Natural Gas include:

  • Natural Gas is a domestically-produced commodity, available in vast quantities (enough available to serve 100% of US energy needs for 100+ years, providing a bridge to the opportunity for development of more exotic fuels, e.g. hydrogen, advanced electrics to occur at a natural pace).
  • Gas is readily adapted to power generation, oil heated buildings and internal combustion engines on larger platforms.
  • When current gas equivalent gallon costs plus margins are considered (i.e. usable BTUs are set to equal), gas has an advantage of about 67% over petroleum-based fuels, thus could become attractive to individual, corporate and fleet users.
  • Natural gas is environmentally more benign than fuels comprised of more complex molecules.

Discussion: Inertia is the main impediment to widespread conversion to gas fueling.  Traditional gas utility marketing already provides fuel to many larger, fixed platform users, but has barely addressed mobile platform uses.  However, there are many subtleties to motor vehicle adaptation that Utilities may not be well-prepared for.  JGD Management, Inc. is uniquely positioned to serve as the facilitation provider between The Utility Conglomerate and the emerging market for motor vehicle adaptation.  Our plan is multi-faceted and has several valence levels:

  • Lobbying at state levels in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky for priority conversion of state vehicles and state investment in refueling centers at fleet gathering points and on state controlled routes using political connections of key personnel.
  • Lobbying at local municipality levels for fleet conversions.
  • Facilitating, through negotiations, preparation of economics, and follow-through,  agreements between chain retailers, fleets and associations, on one hand and utilities on the other for real estate commitments and marketing agencies for CNG fueling, using industry experts and notable figures.
  • Facilitating, through negotiations, preparation of economics, and follow-through, agreements between municipalities, clubs, fleets and associations, on one hand and vehicle conversion businesses on the other for low-priced conversions to CNG fueling.
  • Facilitating individual facility development through engineering support and advocacy, using expertise of JGD Associates, Inc., an affiliate and expert in petroleum fueling.
  • Facilitating development of the at-site equipment providing industry, including new-to-industry and foreign providers using expertise of JGD Associates, Inc.
  • Facilitating the regulatory environment for CNG fueling, establishing standards and best practices using expertise of JGD Associates, Inc.
  • Appropriate progress reporting, news releases and public relations.
  • Coordination with other, parallel initiatives within The Utility Conglomerate, including public relations, advertising, political support and consultation.
